"Hey everyone — new here and been lurking for a bit. I’m 30, been lifting consistently for 8 years, decent size and strength, but I’ve hit a wall. Labs show total T around 450 ng/dL. Not terrible, but I feel tired, recovery is slower, and libido’s down.
I’ve seen mixed opinions about starting TRT at this age. Some say it's life-changing, others say wait or fix lifestyle stuff first.

So my question is:
For those who started TRT in their late 20s to early 30s, did it actually improve performance, recovery, mood — or was it mostly placebo or short-lived hype?
Also, anything you wish you knew before starting?"

"Good post, man. Got a few questions for you — might help others here too:
  1. How long have your levels been in the 450 range? Was that just one test or consistent over time?
  2. Are you using anything right now to support natural T — like DHEA, Tongkat, or even just adjusting macros?
  3. You mentioned libido and recovery — how bad are those issues day to day? Like, is it affecting your training goals or just annoying?
  4. Are you considering TRT through a clinic or more DIY route?
  5. What’s your biggest concern about starting — side effects, long-term commitment, or something else?"
