Hey everyone,

Just wanted to share the supplements I've been using to keep my cholesterol in check both during and after anabolic cycles. As most of us know, many AAS (especially orals and compounds like tren) can seriously mess with our lipid profile: HDL goes down, LDL goes up, and the risk for long-term cardiovascular issues increases.

I’ve been monitoring my bloodwork regularly and noticed a real difference when I started taking the following:

Berberine (500–1000 mg/day)

Berberine works similarly to metformin in some ways, it improves insulin sensitivity and helps reduce LDL cholesterol and triglycerides. I take it with meals (2x daily). It’s also great for blood sugar and liver health.

Red Yeast Rice (1200 mg/day, with CoQ10)

Red Yeast Rice naturally contains monacolin K (similar to a low-dose statin). It’s been one of the most effective natural options for lowering LDL cholesterol. But make sure you supplement CoQ10 with it since like statins, it can deplete your levels.

Omega-3 Fish Oil (4000-6000 mg EPA/DHA per day)

A must-have for heart health. It helps raise HDL and lower triglycerides. I usually split the dose morning and evening with food.

Citrus Bergamot (500–1000 mg/day)

This one surprised me. Clinical studies show it can significantly lower total cholesterol, LDL, and blood glucose. Plus, it's well-tolerated and doesn’t mess with liver enzymes.

Psyllium

Psyllium binds bile acids and cholesterol in the gut and helps excrete them. I take about 10g daily usually mixed with water or added to protein shakes.

Optional (but useful):

CoQ10 (100–200 mg/day): Especially if you’re using Red Yeast Rice or any other cholesterol-lowering agents. Good for heart and mitochondrial function.

Vitamin K2 (MK-7, 100–200 mcg/day): Helps direct calcium into bones and away from arteries.

TUDCA/NAC/Milk Thistle: Not directly cholesterol-lowering, but helpful for liver support and a healthy liver = better lipid metabolism.

Diet and cardio

No supplement will outwork a garbage diet. I limit saturated fats and processed foods while increasing fiber, veggies, lean protein, and healthy fats (avocados, olive oil, fatty fish). I also aim for 4-5 cardio sessions per week — even if it’s just brisk walking or incline treadmill.

Bloodwork proof

I had cycles where my HDL dropped below 30 and LDL spiked. After incorporating this stack (plus diet/cardio), my numbers normalized within a few weeks. Now I use these as a staple, both on and off cycle.

Of course, I take many more supplements to support overall health this list is just specifically for managing cholesterol.

Hope this helps some of you. If you’ve got your own strategies or favorite supplements, I’d love to hear them.

Besides everything listed, ezetimibe (which is a medication, but has zero side effects) also works very well.
