Retatrutide. I waited with this review until I can actually say something about the effects.
I bought Retatrutide first when it was at half price, and it arrived on time. Since then I bought it two more times.
I've never been interested in GLPs because I didn't want to end up eating even less. But more and more people kept raving about them, especially Retatrutide, and when it was at a 50% discount at Driadashop, I took it as a sign and decided to try it.
I started with 500 mcg, and made the mistake of taking it twice a week, so I could take smaller amounts at once, instead of the full dose. Now I believe this was a mistake because the concentration never lowered enough and there was no relief from the side effects.
After being really fed up with the constant bad side effects, I switched to taking it once a week, and then at least I have a few days feeling normal.
For the first months, I only had side effects, and they were very unpleasant. First just the heartburn and acid reflux, then as I raised the dose, came the foul sulphur burps, and the lowest point was a 3-4 days long continuous diarrhea. I was really scared when the time came for my next injection of this vile stuff. I also threw up once, and after that I decided to only inject it once a week. That helps a lot because the ugly full feeling goes away as it reaches its half life, and I don't feel so uncomfortably full for a day or two.
Slowly I raised the dose, but haven't lost until two things happened: I reached 3 mg and started MOTS-C. I don't know which one did the trick but now I'm losing about 1-2 kg per month.
Then another problem occured as I reached 3.5 mg: I couldn't even consume the protein I want to reach. I've been aiming for about 150 g protein in the past couple years, because that covers twice my lean body weight in kg more than generously. After reaching 3.5 mg, I can't even take half of that. Reta makes me loathe the protein foods that used to make up a big part of my diet. Even the smell of savoury food makes me queasy, and if I force myself to reach 100-120 g of protein, I get punished by the horrible sulphur burps and diarrhea. I hope this will go away, as the other side effects eventually did, because I don't want to lose substantial muscle.
I still keep taking it, now I plan on dividing a 10 mg vial to 3 portions and take approximately 3.3 mg per week. I hope I will be able to both cover at least most of my protein needs and keep losing fat. I can't really stop because I want to decrease my inflammation, blood pressure and weight, and everyone says that Reta shines in these.
On the whole, it is worth taking but I wish there was a version which doesn't include this disgusting delayed gastric emptying and doesn't kill appetite. I hate always feeling like I have food up to my throat even I haven't eaten for a full day (when the sulphur burps appear I'm so disgusted I rather barely eat until they go away, which can take more than a day). I really hate the slow digestion it gives. But I hope that staying on the same dose will help me to adapt and make that more bearable.
This may sound like a negative review, but honestly it is quite a miracle. I used to eat very little for years, and still stayed very stable overweight, often with one normal sized plate of solid meal plus two protein shakes a day, haven't lost anything. Now since I started Reta, I'm a lot more lax with my eating, I often afford things I could rarely afford, and still losing. Many people say it made their eating habits healthier. For me, it had the opposite effect: it makes me queasy when I think of more protein, but I can eat desserts. I can now afford eating less restrictive and closer to a normal diet. This means a lot. To be honest, there is no way to know how much of this is due to the MOTS-C though. But I only added that later, and will detail it in another review.
