If I don't want kids or big balls is there any point of taking HCG ? For my neurosteroids (shut down by testosterone) I take Pregnenolone and Dhea so I'm fine right?

Hi Yannick!

If fertility or the possibility of recovering your natural axis matters to you, then yes, HCG has a real purpose. It helps maintain testicular function while exogenous testosterone is suppressing LH/FSH.

If, on the other hand, you’ve consciously chosen long-term TRT/blast-and-cruise or competitive bodybuilding, don’t want children and accept that natural recovery may become difficult or even impossible, then HCG becomes much more optional or even useless.

So the real question isn’t “Do I need HCG?” It’s “Do I care about preserving testicular function and future options?”

If yes, worth discussing. If you’ve genuinely closed that door, much less reason to complicate things.

im little bit afraid about HCG ad HMG and i would use Kiss Peptin during the cycle, some even say pin that three times a day but i would tart with that sice its similar and more forgiving if dosage is not perfect.
Why are you scared of HMG ? it's perfect bioidentical LH and FSH, for HCG I can understand because HCG is not natural for men. Kisspeptin could even be better than HMG but how do you even source HMG and Kisspeptin ? @Driadashop.to please sell Kisspeptin

Yannick, how are things going brother?

It’s been a while since we discussed this and I’m genuinely curious where you landed with the HCG decision and how you’re feeling now.

Give us a quick update when you have a minute.

Not quite. HMG increases FSH to a greater extent and has relatively little LH activity. To improve fertility, it is usually combined specifically with HCG because HCG has much stronger LH activity and can significantly increase intratesticular testosterone levels, which is very important for sperm development. So can HMG completely replace HCG? Definitely not.

And regarding steroidogenesis — there is some rationale here. At the moment, there isn’t enough precise scientific data on how much neurosteroid levels decrease during the use of exogenous testosterone, but purely as a hypothetical model, using HCG during TRT can make sense even if fertility isn’t relevant. One argument here is the observation that many men on TRT report improved mood and libido from HCG. Personally, I think that if we have the option to keep some part of a system functioning that gets switched off when exogenous testosterone is introduced, then it’s worth keeping it active. The body is complex, and many systems are more interconnected than we currently understand.

And yes, there is a significant number of men whose libido on TRT isn’t as high as it was with normal endogenous testosterone levels. There is also a hypothesis for this — although the chemical formula of synthetic testosterone is an exact copy of natural testosterone, there is an opinion that synthetic testosterone still isn’t 100% bioidentical. This could also help explain why HCG improves libido for some men.

That’s how it is :)

I tried HCG and yeah I felt a little bit and it can make sense to use it but I still have anhedonia and cold sensitivity and I can't find the cause

Please describe your situation. These can be signs of completely different conditions, and some of them can be checked with blood tests. It could be anything from iron-deficiency anemia to hypothyroidism. Let’s figure this out.

Your endocrinologist should retire, sorry😞

Desensitization of Leydig cells is purely a theoretical assumption. A single large dose is completely different from using doses of 250 IU frequently.

For example, drugs like amphetamine are used to treat ADHD and do not cause dependence because, firstly, they are used at therapeutic doses and, secondly, in extended-release form. This means that dopamine and norepinephrine do not spike too high — reducing symptoms of inattention without destabilizing the system. But if you take a dose used for recreational purposes, the situation changes completely, because once a certain neurotransmitter level threshold is crossed, the system starts working differently. I can explain this in more detail if you want.

And HCG is routinely used for years in fertility treatment protocols. The doses used there are significantly higher than those needed on TRT or a steroid cycle.
